Generally, computer notebooks are in the shape of notebook with a dimension from 10×8 inches to 15×11 inches. Its thickness ranges from 0.7 to 1.5 inches. And its general weight is from 3 pounds to 12 pounds but older laptops were quite heavier than current ones.Computer notebook used a flit form factor which can protect the keyboard and screen while closing. 
 
 

Classification of different laptops is as follows: 

• Full size laptop

The size of full size laptop measures at least 11 inches and it is the minimum width of the laptop for a full sized QWERTY keyboard. Later on, different sizes were introduced in it. 

• Net book

It is a lighter, smaller and more portable laptop. It is quite cheaper than full size laptops but allows less computing power and fewer features. It can be difficult to operate a small keyboard. 

• Ultra thin laptop

It is a new class of computer notebook and is quite light and thin. 

• Rugged

It is designed to operate in some tough conditions such as extreme temperature, dusty and wet environment and mechanical shocks. 

• Tablet PC

This is the computer notebook used touch screen feature to operate. There is a complete keyboard available on display to operate. 

Portability is the basic advantage with these laptops. It means you can operate laptop in many different places such as office, fights, in library and lecture halls, meeting room, etc. Its size is quite portable. A person can easily carry it from one place to another. With personal computer, a UPS can hold only few minutes from 20-30 minutes but in laptop, with a rechargeable battery you can easily operate it for up to 5 hours during power cuts or blackout. It also consumes lesser power than a personal computer. But along with its advantages there are disadvantages too and some of them are:

• It is not durable.
• It can be theft because of portability and mobility, so it is not secure.
• Its performance is not comparable with personal computer.
